Monarch Surf Company is an unapologetic, punk-infused surf brand that caters to the skate/surf culture of Southern California. Monarch is all about garnering a new subculture of surfing with neo-punk influences.

In the logo, bright red emphasizes the energy and passion the brand hopes to bring to the surf scene. While the logo calls back to the state butterfly, the monarch, with a wave icon representing wing patterns. The logo also references the shape of a surfboard, split in half (a reference to the tendency to break skateboards in an act of passion).

2 // PAAW Beer

Inspired by vintage character and mascot design, PAAW Beer attracts both a young excited audience and older, nostalgic crowd, with it’s lovable mascots. The mascot logo opens the door to a multitude of branding opportunities for the brand. The main logo is essentially, 4 logos that can stand alone, providing unlimited paawsabilities ;).

Branding has centered around pastel colors to create a welcoming environment for both veteran beer drinkers and those who may feel too inexperienced to approach other brands. The chosen font pairing further emphasizes the vintage and nostalgic feel, calling back to beer branding of years past.

3 // Vancouver tea house

Vancouver Tea House is an up and coming artisan coffee and tea shop in the arts district of Vancouver, Canada. The logo needed to be sophisticated, modern, and represent both the city and the company identity. The final design incorporates a minimal teacup design with vertical smoke in the shape of a “V” to represent the city. The geometry and straight lines of the logo emphasize the sophistication and elevation of the logo and brand.

Color palette was chosen in the neccesetay of maintaining a calm environment in the company. The earthly green and beige call to both the calming colors of nature and colors traditionally associated with tea and tea bags.

4 // freshbloom wellness

Freshbloom Wellness is a new yoga study in a young downtown area. Freshbloom is more than your average yoga studio, providing visitors with nutritional courses, wellness lessons, an all organic café, and much much more. Freshbloom’s mission is to help every visitor ‘bloom’ into the best version of themselves through health and wellness.

The logo needed to represent a flower in bloom, and was inspired by the pink lotus, representing purity, re-birth, resilience, and hope. The design needed to blend elegance and modernity, leading to the geometric design with soft corners and edges. The color pallet took inspiration from the pink lotus and maintained a connection to reality.
